I have been a professional artist for almost 50 years, chronicling the images that are important to me, whether it's the figure or a stunning Southwest landscape.
I am equally comfortable in oils, watercolors and colored pencil, but I especially love the mouth atomizer pieces. The pigment is literally blown onto the paper.
Travel never disappoints when it comes to inspiration, but often my own backyard holds a treasure trove of wonder.
"Painted Desert Camino" 28 x 15.5 mouth atomizer watercolor
"Tuzigoot" 10 x 8" limited edition of 32
These small-edition images are hand-carved in soft linoleum, hand-inked with a rubber brayer, and hand-burnished with a traditional Japanese baren on 100% acid-free archival paper.
After each layer is printed the plate is cleaned and Diane carves away what will not be printed on the next layer.
